Vision

Shah Kawasaki Architects, a multi-disciplinary firm based in Oakland, Calif., is known for its bold work on institutional, commercial and residential buildings in the Bay Area and beyond. The firm’s recent clients include Washington University of St. Louis, Goodwill, Contra Costa County, and the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts.

Challenge

Shah Kawasaki wanted a website that would serve as an entry point for friends and potential clients, showcasing their elegant design work. In particular, the firm’s recurring themes of geometry and livability needed to be presented in a subtle, easy-to-use fashion.

An intuitive interface

Monsoon’s goal was for the website to reflect the firm’s beliefs and vision. We helped showcase the company’s sterling Bay Area work through a sharp intro sequence and an elegant case study interface that highlights the firms wide daylight-filled interiors and classical facades. We also designed an intuitive interface so the firm could post news items of press clips, company news, and project announcements.
